Altar Servers

Altar Servers

Please talk to your children and encourage them to consider becoming an altar server. It is a privilege to assist the priest at the Altar. After receiving First Communion, both boys and girls are eligible to become altar servers.

The altar server coordinator will instruct them in tasks such as preparing the altar for Eucharist, carrying the cross, and the candles, as well as assisting the priest.  Their presence also helps guide parishioners throughout the Mass and they contribute an invaluable service at times such as Christmas and Easter.

At this time, there is no set schedule for altar servers, but we ask that they arrive 15 minutes before Mass time to get dressed and to receive any instructions in the event of a special occasion such as a Baptism.

St. Charles appreciates its faithful altar servers - we thank the altar servers with fun outings and little tokens of our appreciation at Christmas and Easter.

St. Charles is also open to having “adult altar servers”, especially at the 4:00 PM Saturday Mass and to help serve at funeral.

If anyone is interested in becoming an altar server please contact the Parish Office.
