St. Charles Music

St Charles Church Music
A variety of groups work hard to enhance our worship and liturgy through music.
9:30 am Mass Choir
The 9:30 am Mass choir leads the congregation in hymns and responses during the early Sunday liturgy.  It learns and teaches choral pieces appropriate to various celebrations; trains cantors for psalms.  At times members are called upon to lead the singing at funeral Masses.  Men and women interested in singing praises to the Lord are invited to join: no formal musical training is required.
Practices are held Monday evenings at 6:30 PM for approximately 1 ½ hours, usually from September to the end of May.

11:30 am Mass Choir
The 11:30 am Mass Choir engage St. Charles Parishioners in contemporary praise and worship hymns and psalms.  We also sing for church celebrations like Christmas, Good Friday and Easter.  We welcome youth and adults who are interested in singing or playing an instrument to join us!  We practice every week about half an hour before the 11:30 Mass.  You don't have to be a professional singer or musician - just come lift your voice in song to Our Lord!

Youth Band
The Youth Band leads the congregation in the musical portions of the liturgy at selected masses during the year, especially confirmation mass and the Youth-oriented Christmas mass. The Band is a committed group of 6 teenaged and young adult musicians and singers, who sometimes meet for only one practice before a mass.  If you have a calling to provide music during mass, and you know your instrument well enough to play under pressure and create your own parts, or you are not afraid to sing into a microphone contact us, we’d be happy to hear from you.
